2) Our aspiring teachers enter and remain in educational careers.

SHORT-TERM OUTCOMES
Given that Breakthrough Saint Paul is in its third year and that our students and most of our teachers are still years away from attaining our long-term outcomes, Breakthrough uses these two main outcomes to benchmark short-term success:

1) Success in Honors Classes: At the end of the 2006/07 school year, 87% of our SPPS students received a B- or higher in at least one challenge course, and 68% of our SPPS students did so in 2 or more challenge classes.

2) Encouraged by Breakthrough: 100% of our summer aspiring teachers reported that their Breakthrough teaching experience increased or reinforced their interest in pursuing a career in education.
