BREAKTHROUGH OUTCOMES
If Breakthrough follows its logic model by securing the necessary inputs and providing the right services as demonstrated by its outputs, then our program should achieve its desired outcomes. Some of the key outcomes we work toward include:
- Success (B- or above) in honors courses
- Completion of a college preparatory curriculum in high school
- Meeting standard on MCA-II tests
- Graduating from high school on time
- College attendance the fall after high school
- Increased or reinforced interest in an educational career (teacher outcome)
- Entrance into an educational career (teacher outcome)
After cooking, a chef always looks closely at his final product and evaluates whether or not he was successful. At Breakthrough we do the same for our students and our aspiring teachers and ask if the services we provided yielded the outcomes we desired.
Each fall we put together a detailed report on our outcomes, evaluate our success, and consider ways to improve. This report is included in the full Breakthrough Breakdown.
