BREAKTHROUGH OUTPUTS

Once the proper inputs are secured, Breakthrough Saint Paul uses them to provide a variety of unique services. We measure the amount and quality of these services using a tool called “outputs.” Some key outputs (evidence of our service delivery) we track are:

• Student Retention
• Hours of Student Attendance
• Number, Type, and Duration of Home Contacts
• Number and Duration of Teacher Observations
• Student & Parent Opinion of Program Quality
• Aspiring Teacher Opinion of Program Quality

When following a recipe, a chef needs to follow a specific process or the final product will not turn out as intended. The same is true for the staff at Breakthrough. We need to make sure the services we deliver are the right ones, and we do so by tracking the program’s outputs.

Each fall we put together a detailed report on our outputs, evaluate how well they match our logic model, and consider ways to improve. This report is included in the full Breakthrough Breakdown.
