Academic Coaching (Tutoring)
Support a student's success with your own subject expertise -- become an Academic Coach!

BSP students love to learn!
We have finished tutoring for the 2012-2013 school year. However, if you are interested in volunteering in the future, please check back in the fall for tutoring opportunities. Meanwhile, you may read below for more information about the position. Contact us with questions at volunteer@breakthroughsaintpaul.org or 651-748-5504.
We see the role of Academic Coaches as encouraging and "coaching" our students toward academic success. Academic Coaches provide consistent weekly tutoring support for one of our middle or high school students for the duration of 3-4 months. This will ensure that all of our students have strong understanding of their academic coursework, and therefore have the skills to be prepared for college.
The Academic Coach is a volunteer, reporting to and collaborating with the Community Engagement Specialist. In total, the Academic Coach position requires a commitment of 2 hours per week. NOTE: * Tutoring takes place at a Saint Paul Public Library closest to the tutee student's home. *
